Fabian Washington CB Nebraska 511 188 Jr.
By: Robert Davis

Very few players can have an immediate impact as a true freshman, but thats exactly what Washington did for the Huskers. He moved into the starting lineup three games into his freshman season, and did not give the job up. He set Nebraska freshman records for pass break ups with 13 and INTs with 4. He was named to many freshmen All American lists for his play that season. As a sophomore, he had a career high 55 tackles to go with 4 interceptions. During his final season with the Huskers as a junior, he added 3 more interceptions to go with 41 tackles. In his three years, he had 38 passes broken up.

Washington is a playmaker. He has a nose for the ball and makes a lot of plays. In three years, he totaled 10 interceptions to go with 38 pass break ups. He has awesome speed, is a great athlete, and can keep up with any receiver down the field. Despite being a true junior, he has started over 30 games in the Big 12, and should be able to make an impact immediately in the NFL, to go with a lot of untapped potential.

Even with his experience on the field, Washington does need some work. His body could use a few extra pounds, and that will come with simple maturation over the next couple years.

Fabian Washington has big time upside at the next level. He has great cover skills and is a playmaker with awesome speed. With a little time, he may be one of the better cover corners in the league. Hell probably start out right away as a nickel because the kid can play now, but hes going to need a little time to be a full time starter. After his combine showing, Washington should hear his name called at the end of the first. If he lasts into the second, he wont be around long.
