Miller only had ten tackles as a freshman but has played a larger role since his rookie year despite not starting very many games. As a sophomore he had 39 tackles, six for loss, and 3.5 sacks. As a junior last year, Miller had 40 tackles, eight for loss, and one sack.
Strengths
Miller is an excellent run stopper. He is built low to the ground and has a wide base, which makes him very tough to move. He has excellent strength and easily holds his ground, occupying blockers and taking up space in the middle of the line. His natural strength also allows him to collapse the pocket at times and disrupt the action up the gut. Miller appears to have all the qualities to be a quality nose tackle at the next level.
Weaknesses
There is no explosive quality about Millers game. He lacks the quickness and change of direction ability to be much of a force as a penetrator. He is a run stopper only that may get the occasional penetration because he can drive some lineman back into the backfield. Millers frame may already be maxed out and he may not be able to get much bigger.
Future
Miller has average size but he uses his short stature with his natural strength to be an immovable force in the middle of a defensive line. He may not make many plays, but every team needs someone that can clog running lanes. Miller is one of the best in the draft at stopping the run and should hear his name called in the middle rounds in April.
