Urbik was a freshman All American at right tackle for the Badgers as a freshman in 2005. He moved to right guard as a sophomore and remained there through his junior seasons, where he was named All Big Ten. He has played both right tackle and right guard as a senior this season.
Strengths
Urbik has the size of a tackle and the game of a guard. He is a physical lineman that can overpower defenders at the point of attack. Urbik doesnt just control them, he locks on and rides them until the whistle blows. He makes sure his man will not be in on the play. He has decent footwork in a short area, and has the ability to neutralize his man in pass protection.
Weaknesses
Urbik lacks the natural athleticism and is not nimble enough to play tackle in the NFL. Even as a guard he should be confined to a small area and wont be very effective on the move.
Future
Kraig Urbik is a talented guard for a power running scheme, and he could be a very good guard if he is drafted to play in that offense. The fact that he has played both guard and tackle at the college level is nice, and could help in a pinch in the NFL if the need arises. His future is at guard and he could potentially hear his name called in the third round.
