Hill earned three starts as a freshman and managed to haul in 11 passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns. He became a factor in the offense a year later, catching 42 balls for 741 yards and ten touchdowns. As a junior, Hill had numbers to rival any TE in the country after he caught 65 balls for 926 yards and 11 touchdowns. The numbers werent quite as impressive as a senior, although he still had a very good year. Hill caught 38 passes for 633 yards and seven touchdowns.
Strengths
There are not as many tight ends that are as big a playmaker at the tight end position as Hill. He has excellent height, creating a very big target for his quarterback. He is also an excellent athlete with ball skills very few tight ends have. He can go up and grab the football in the air with the best of him. With his size and athleticism, Hill could be a major factor in the red zone. Hill also shows the quickness and speed to get open and make plays with the ball in his hands. While he definitely fits in the receiving category as a tight end, he does show effort as a blocker which gives him potential in that area.
Weaknesses
The main problem with Hill is his lack of bulk. He has a very thin frame and looks like a tall wide receiver on the field. He lacks the strength to hold up at the point of attack and take on a defender. He must bulk up to play in the NFL. He lacks the foot speed to move outside to receiver, so tight end is his position. He needs to add substantial bulk and strength to his game.
Future
Hill has a lot of potential and a lot of ability that can translate to the NFL. He needs to work on his frame though, because he is extremely thin for a tight end. Hill was not invited to the combine, but had an excellent pro day. He has bulked up to 246lbs and ran in the mid 4.7's, but he will need to prove he can maintain the weight gain. He is an intriguing day two option at tight end that could really surprise at the next level as a receiving tight end.
