Arnold has made quite an impression in each of his three seasons on the field, even though he has yet to make it through a whole season. As a freshman, he earned Frosh AA honors while playing in ten games. As a sophomore, he was named to the SEC 2nd team despite playing in just eight games. In just give games as a junior, he again earned SEC 2nd team honors. His senior season was a disaster, as he missed almost the entire year because of more knee problems.
Arnold is a beast when hes healthy. He has excellent size, is very strong, and plays with a high level of intensity. He has the raw power to control defenders even if they get a step on him at the snap, and the ability to drive them into the ground once he locks on. He can really open up running lanes on a consistent basis when you run behind him.
Arnold has a history of durability issues. He has had numerous knee and ankle injuries, and has yet to make it through a full season in college. That is a major red flag for a pro prospect, because the season is a lot longer in the NFL. As a senior, he received a shot in his knee and it got infected, which weakened his knees for the rest of the season.
Arnold is one of the best guards in the draft, but it is tough to just ignore his injury history. Another injury riddled season may cost Arnold. While he is still a top guard when he plays, his inability to stay healthy is a major problem. He will have to show that he is healthy, although there is talk about arthritis with Arnold which could kill his chances of being drafted.
