As a sophomore, he caught 30 balls for 357 yards and two touchdowns, to go along with his 13.6 punt return average and one touchdown, despite missing four games due to a high ankle sprain. As a junior, he hauled in 60 passes for 558 yards and a touchdown. Bumpus had an excellent senior year, catching 70 passes for 789 yards and four touchdowns.

Bumpus is a quick athlete that can line up in the slot and impact the game as a return man. He has very good quickness and the ability to change directions to make defenders miss. He has shown good athleticism and ball skills to go get the ball in the air and come down with it. Bumpus� best trait is his ability in the return game, where he has returned three punts for touchdowns in his career.

As a receiver, Bumpus lacks the size and strength to do much across the middle. He can make plays in space, but he may be limited as a receiver in the NFL. His true value lies as a return man, and while he is a good one, he is not a true gamebreaker from this spot either.

Bumpus is a player that will definitely get a look in the NFL. His ability on special teams will be what makes him stick in the league.
