Lance Leggett WR 6'3 189 Miami 4.45
Leggett flashed his big play potential early on as a freshman, when he finished the season with 17 grabs for 349 yards and four touchdowns. He didnt quite take the leap expected as a sophomore, as he had career lows of 15 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns. He bounced back with an impressive junior campaign, hauling in 38 passes for 584 yards and four touchdowns. He did not put together the big year Cane fanes hoped for as a senior. A foot injury limited him to nine games and just 15 catches for 238 yards and one touchdown. Leggett has also doubled as a track star for the Hurricanes, performing in various hurdle events.
Leggett has a fantastic combination of height, athleticism, and speed. He is long and lanky, and coupled with his athleticism, allows him to be a force in the red zone. He is a difficult matchup in one on one situations. Leggett also has good speed and has the ability to get down the field and outrun defensive backs to make big plays.
While he has very good height for the position, Leggett is very thin and must bulk up. He does not carry enough weight to consistently go over the middle, and physical corners in the NFL may be able to overpower him.
Leggett has big time upside. He has an excellent combination of size, speed, and athleticism. He must round out his skills and get stronger to live up to his potential though. He will need to bulk up to be more than just a vertical threat in the NFL.
