Guyton was a reserve as a freshman, tallying just seven tackles on the year. As a sophomore, he had 19 tackles, three for loss, and a sack. As a junior, his numbers improved to 29/8/2. Guyton had a big senior year though, finishing the season with 78 tackles, 13.5 for loss, and five sacks.
Guyton projects to the weakside position in the NFL, and he brings a lot of speed and athleticism. He is a good athlete, with the ability to change direction and make plays all over the field. He shows impressive closing speed and can chase plays down from behind. Guyton has solid size for a weakside linebacker, and has experience on the strongside in college.
Guyton will need to get stronger at the next level. He does not hold up at the point of attack well, and can be run at. He will be stuck on the weakside unless he can get stronger and improve his shedding ability.
Guyton has the athleticism and speed that you cannot teach, but he does not always display those abilities on the field. He does not react as quickly as he needs to and will need more time to get more comfortable on the field. His raw tools may get him taken earlier that his play deserves, but he has the talent to develop if give the time.
