Stevens caught four passes for 61 yards and a touchdown as a freshman. His numbers were pretty consistent from that point on during his career. As a sophomore, he caught 13 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. He followed that up with 17/239/1 as a junior. As a senior, Stevens caught 17 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns.
Stevens is a good all around tight end. He excels as a blocker, showing the strength at the point of attack to neutralize a defender, and the ability to finish blocks to prevent the defender from making the tackle. He has solid size and shows good hands as a receiver, making him a solid intermediate threat. He did not produce big numbers, but he played with some quality backs and receivers during his career which may have limited his effectiveness as a weapon.
Stevens lacks any big play ability as a receiver, which limits his upside. He has decent straightline speed, but he will not outrun defenders. His biggest problem is his lack of quickness in and out of his cuts. He may not get much separation in the NFL as a receiver.
Stevens is a good blocker and a good receiver if he can get open. He will never be a go to threat as a tight end, but he is a player that can be a solid third or fourth option as a receiver. He will catch anything in his vicinity but he wont make many plays. He had an impressive combine that could get him selected earlier than he probably deserves, but he has the talent to play on Sundays and be an effective performer.
