Miller has been a force since his true freshman season. He was named the Pac 10 freshman of the year after hauling in 56 passes for 552 yards and six touchdowns in 2004. In just 10 games as a sophomore, he had 38 catches for 476 yards and four TDs. Miller was a consensus All America as a junior. He finished the season with 50 receptions for 484 yards and four touchdowns.
Zach Miller is an excellent receiving tight end. He should be able to make an immediate impact as a receiver in the NFL. He has very good size, but has above average athleticism and hands as well. Miller has good quickness and knows how to get open, and will haul in any pass that is near him. He is very tough, and will be a force in the red zone.
Miller is a decent blocker, but there is room for improvement. He is more of a receiver, and will always be, but he has to be more consistent in this area. He has the potential to be a solid blocker, but lacks the power to push defenders off the line in run blocking.
Miller will probably be the second TE selected after Greg Olsen, but he looks better on the field. He has the potential to be an all around tight end in time. He may lack the explosive speed to be a major playmaker at tight end, but his developed receiving skills will always make him a threat to catch the football.
