Brown has been a key part of Texas success in recent years. As a sophomore in 2004, Brown had 42 tackles, five for loss, a sack, and two picks on the year. As a junior he was more active, finishing with 70 tackles, two for loss, and a pick. As a senior, he posted 53 tackles, with one for loss on the year.
Tarell Brown is a talented, all around corner. He has good size, and shows the willingness to attack the line of scrimmage and support the run. Hes tough and physical and will lay a lick on the ball carrier. Brown also has very good speed and can keep up with receivers well down the field. Hes also received some experience returning kicks, which could give him added value for some team.
Brown hasnt always been the playmaker that he was expected to be. Hes got the talent to make a lot of plays, but hasnt proven to be one. He has also been too aggressive at times and needs to play with a bit more control. Brown was also arrested on marijuana and weapons charges earlier this year and that will cause teams to do a thorough background check.
Brown can do a lot of things on the field, and he will carry solid value on draft day. He probably will not be the biggest playmaker in the NFL, but he could be a steady all around cornerback.
