Chandler was a wide receiver as a freshman, but was unable to provide an impact. He was shifted to TE in 2004, and came through with 24 catches for 324 yards and two touchdowns. As a junior, he improved to 47 receptions for 552 yards and two TDs. His numbers were pretty similar as a senior, where he hauled in 46 balls for 591 yards and six touchdowns.
Chandler is an absolutely massive target. He has excellent size, and is a matchup nightmare. He combines that with very good athleticism. He could be a terror in the red zone with his ability to go up and get the football. Chandler knows how to get open, and shows some ability to run with the ball after the catch.
At this point, Chandler is basically one dimensional. He is a very good receiver, but is lacking in the blocking area. His height works against him in the running game, as he gets too upright and can be pushed out of the way. He is not as strong as his body suggests.
Just how good Chandler becomes will depend on how much he improves as a blocker. He has the receiving skills and excellent size, but he must improve his blocking. He could go as high as the third round, but likely falls to Day Two.
