McBean spent his first two seasons at Hinds Community College before enrolling at Oklahoma St. As a junior, he made an immediate impact with 37 tackles, 5.5 for loss, and three sacks on the year. As a senior, he was in on 25 tackles, seven for loss, and 4.5 sacks.
McBean is an excellent athlete with the knack for getting into the opponents backfield. He comes off the ball very quickly, and can disrupt plays before they start. He is not just a penetrator, he also has the strength to hold up at the point of attack and clog running lanes. McBean could bring the versatility to play inside in a 4-3, or outside in a 3-4 defense.
Production has never matched the talent with McBean. He was solid, but for a player with his skills, he should be a big playmaker and has not put it all together yet. He will also have to add more weight to his frame at the next level.
Upside is what McBean really has going for him. He has a lot of talent, but hasnt put it together yet. His best football may be ahead. He has the talent to fit in any scheme, and could really develop at the next level.
