Davis was little used as a freshman, but had a breakout year as a sophomore. He led the team with 43 receptions for 659 yards and one touchdown. As a junior, he had 35 catches for 559 yards and two TDs. As a senior, he went out with career highs across the board with 56 receptions, 824 yards, and four touchdowns along with 12.9 a punt return average.
Davis is a very talented receiver prospect. He has good size, is an excellent athlete, and has very good speed. He is built very well, and can take a hit and hold on to the football. Davis also shows quickness in and out of cuts to get open, and to make defenders miss in the open field. He has the speed to get down the field vertically and outrun defenders. He also became a very good punt returner as a senior.
Davis doesnt always play up to his ability level or play with the same intensity on every down. Hes not as effective over the middle as he should be given his frame, and needs to show more aggression on the field.
Craig Davis has a lot of talent and really could have done a lot more than he did at LSU. He needs to show more hunger on the field and play at the same speed all the time. He has the size and speed to be an all around threat, and could really develop at the next level.
