Denman originally walked on as a defensive lineman, but after a redshirt season, was shifted to the offensive line. He became a fixture at right tackle on the Bulldog offensive line.
Denman is a very sound offensive tackle. He sets up quickly in pass protection and shows the agility to slide laterally and stay in front of the defender. As a run blocker, he gets off the line quickly and is aggressive in trying to create a hole for his back. Denman is a hard worker, is tough, and will not quit on the field.
While he is a good pass blocker, it is because of his technique, not his athletic gifts. Denman must also get stronger because he does not consistently move the defender off the line in running situations.
Chris Denman may not have the ideal physical gifts to be a starting tackle in the NFL, but his size, attitude, and intelligence on the field will allow him to contribute in the NFL. With a lack of major upside he is only a day two selection, but is a player that could surprise.
